Classes

Robin has previously taught classes before in Utrecht. She is very passionate about all facets of folk, with a focus on connection and awareness of your own and the other’s movements, and a deep appreciation of more regional dances and styles. Tina has been dancing since her youth, grew up in Brittany, and moved to London two years ago.

What is Balfolk?

Balfolk dances are traditional European dances, mostly from France. They take a huge variety of forms, from couple dances, dynamic chains, rounds…
Each dance will appeal to different parts of the dancers, you can be moved by the synchronicity of gentle steps, be taken in the trance of a chain, be lively on a dynamic partner swapping circle, be playful in a bourrée, be impressed by the skills of your partner in a couple dance, or even be gently lulled in a soft mazurka…

Each session will be dedicated to one or two dances, the workshops are independent from each other.
5 sessions are going to be given over 5 weeks. At the end you will have the joy to try your new skills in a practice session!
